Alberta’s health minister says a handful of surgery patients had to be temporarily transferred out of a hospital on the weekend due to staffing issues.

After a wave of public backlash, city officials announced Monday that they are reopening a bunch of LRT washrooms in Edmonton.

A Sunday rally at Churchill Square highlighted the increasing toll the war in Ukraine is taking on children and youth.

Some patients needing general surgeries will be diverted from the Red Deer hospital to other facilities in central Alberta or even to Edmonton or Calgary, Alberta Health Services said.

The hardware collected by Edmonton Oilers stars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl the past several years would require a mammoth trophy case.
