@aumalatj I’m wondering if you didn’t interpret @Kathy CW article link, the same as I did. One paragraph in the article sums it up nicely:
The technology is absorbing huge investments that could be better put elsewhere, while yielding minimal carbon benefits. In some cases, it’s making emissions worse, not better.
The semantics differ a little bit, but you’re both on the same side. I am too. As in the article link she shared, I feel that the large investments in CCS would be better spent elsewhere, such as more wind, solar, and hydro projects.
This is basically what I expect to see from COP28. The lobbyists and heads for the fossil fuel companies will push for more CSS while they pump out more emissions every year. And, of course, they will ask the governments to help support the projects in the way of subsidies. So, there goes more wasted money.
