Calgary: No Coal for Christmas: Letter Writing & Colouring Event
December 13, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm UTC-6
The Calgary Chapter of the Council of Canadians is planning a series of events opposing the re-opening of Alberta to coal extraction. The first event will be No Coal for Christmas: An Anti-Coal Mining Letter Writing & Colouring Event, a family-friendly holiday-themed Zoom action at 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 13.
No Coal for Christmas will be an opportunity to sip some ‘nog with likeminded friends, learn more about the history and current context of coal in Alberta and write a letter to Minister Wilkinson (Environment and Climate) asking him to intervene to protect our land and water from the coal scourge. We’ll also have a colouring sheet for kids (and the young at heart) of Kenney as the Grinch, filling Alberta’s stockings with coal and the ghosts of poor climate decisions past and present.

Other Information: BYON (Bring Your Own ‘Nog). The colouring sheet will be emailed to you prior to the event, to give you a chance to print it out and colour it at home!
