Alberta government asks Court of Appeal whether Bill C-69 is constitutional
with the court on Tuesday, asking it whether the federal government was
acting within its authority when it passed Bill C-69, which established the process earlier this year.
“The
government of Alberta asserts that Bill C-69 is a flagrant violation of
the exclusive constitutional jurisdiction of provinces and territories
to control the development of their natural resources,” Premier Jason
#Kenney said in a news release on Tuesday.

“Every tenth of a degree rise in temperature matters as impacts scale quickly, even exponentially,” wrote the 34 members of the Global Commission on Adaptation. “At higher temperature increases such as 3.0 to 4.0°C, it becomes almost certain that we will cross tipping points, or irreversible changes in ecosystems or climate patterns, which will limit our ability to adapt.”
