O’Toole’s leadership would unify Canada on one thing – ending fossil fuel subsidies – iPolitics
Not sure why Alberta’s premier Jason Kenney is behind him if he’s going to phase out fossil fuel subsidies. Then we’ve heard this before from other parties. Then he also says he will repeal Bill C-69, the legislation that established a new review agency for pipeline projects; pass what he calls a “National Strategic Pipelines Act”; do away with the ban on oil tankers on B.C.’s northern coast; and put in place an LNG (liquefied natural gas) export strategy.
Erin O’Toole revealed his intention to align the Tories with the remainder of the country’s power-holding federal parties by promising to do away with fossil fuel subsidies in Canada if he’s elected as leader of the Conservative Party.
O’Toole’s goal was included in the platform he’s running on to lead the Conservatives, which he released on Wednesday.
