Emergency officials in the Okanagan have significantly expanded an evacuation order for West Kelowna due to an aggressive wildfire.
People living in more than 760 properties — 143 in the Bartley Road area and 620 in the Rose Valley area — were ordered to leave immediately around 5:30 Thursday evening due to the threat of the 1,100-hectare McDougall Creek wildfire.
The total number of homes under an evacuation order sat at 831 Thursday evening.
