Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has offered conflicting explanations for why her government put a temporary ban on large wind and solar energy projects.
‘Agricultural disasters’ spread in Alberta, but local leaders say Ottawa’s ignoring requests for help
‘Agricultural disasters’ spread in Alberta, but local leaders say Ottawa’s ignoring requests for help: “Depending on where you are, it’s just as bad as we were in 2021,”
which was considered among one of the worst drought years in many
decades, Barlow said.
“This is our third dry year in four. Water levels haven’t really returned and guys are trying to rebuild their herds from 2021.”
So
far, the federal government has shown little interest in helping
western agricultural producers through this drought, Barlow said.
Provinces can request assistance under the federal AgriRecovery framework.
But requests made by the Alberta government last month have yet to receive a response, Barlow said.
“The
Liberal government has not really shown a whole lot of commitment to
agriculture (producers) in their times of need,” Barlow said.

Poilievre’s Conservative Party embracing language of mainstream conspiracy theories | CBC News: It is, some experts suggest, another sign that some conspiracy theories are moving from the fringes of the internet to mainstream thinking, as people’s distrust of government grows.
In
speeches to Conservative supporters across Canada, Poilievre has
promised that none of his ministers will attend the international
organization’s conferences, including the annual meeting typically held
in Davos, Switzerland.
“It’s far past time we rejected the
globalist Davos elites and bring home the common sense of the common
people,” said a Saturday fundraising email.
The Conservative Party
also recently sent out mailers with a poll asking people to tell Prime
Minister Justin Trudeau who they think the prime minister should stand
with: working Canadians or the World Economic Forum.
The wording implies Trudeau’s cabinet is beholden to the latter.

They are… some of them print newspapers, some are involved in government.
Druthers.net prints a newspaper. I found a copy, which is how I learned about it. Not only do they have a newspaper, they’re also on FB: www.facebook.com/druthers.net
Then there’s The Epoch Times. Sometimes you’ll see these in the free magazine rack at grocery stores. Besides their newspaper, they have a FB site… and one for Canadians: The Epoch Times in Canada

Press Progress alerted us to the “New Conservative Communications Director Railed Against ‘Globalists’ and ‘New World Order’ on Blog”

And they’re not kidding about the blog. Sarah Fischer’s blog is called Uncancelled. You can read it here: uncancelled.ca/
As the Conservative Communications Director, I’m guessing Pierre Poilievre is kept up to date, on the info she shares, and other sources of “new truth.”
