So far, her work has shown that this spring, leaves emerged

The cameras will stay up until at least 2024, and possibly beyond, to help understand the patterns.
She
has partnered with a researcher at the Department of Natural Resources
to study how air temperature and humidity is related to leaf changes, as
well as how those changes can be used to predict the amount of carbon
leaves absorb in the atmosphere.
Spafford said other
researchers’ work has indicated that as average spring temperatures
increase due to climate change, leaves are emerging earlier in spring
and falling off later in the autumn.
