“The researchers, mainly from Environment Canada, calculated
emissions rates for four major oilsands surface mining operations using
air samples collected in 2013 on 17 airplane flights over the area,” CBC
reports. The study found gaps from 13 to 123% between reported and
actual emissions at the four facilities, a finding that “could have

Provincewide school walkout planned to protest UCP’s stance on GSAs | CBC News
Grade 10 student Aimee, 16, is helping organize the protest in response to premier-designate Jason Kenney’s pledge to proclaim the Education Act (2014).
The move would remove the current prohibition on parental notification when students join GSAs, peer support groups for LGBTQ students. Kenney has said he supports GSAs in schools, and it would be up to teachers decide whether it’s in the best interest of a student to inform their parents when they join one.
The in another article on April 16th shows:
More than 165,000 students across the province took part in a student vote during this election campaign and the results show the students would vote in a United Conservative Party majority.
When the student polls closed at 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, 1,229 schools had reported their results and 165,527 students took part.
Over-all I guess I’d say, too bad; so sad. Voting isn’t a responsibility you should take lightly. Learn from your mistakes.

(Charles Adler’s “knuckle draggers”) voted for the UCP, they picked up
the dog whistles and jumped on board, what we can’t understand is why
our family and friends voted for a party that espoused policies which
made the knuckle draggers feel at home.
The answer lies in Winston Churchill’s pithy exchange with Lady Astor:
”Would you sleep with me for a million pounds?” Churchill asks.
“A million pounds?” says Lady Astor. “I’d have to think about it first but, in all likelihood, yes.”
“How about for a six-pence?”
“Why I never!” Lady Astor huffs. “What do you take me for?”
“That, my dear,” says Churchill, “has been established. We are just negotiating price.”
The UCP bought our friends and families’ votes for a price.
PM’s ‘grand bargain’ on energy died on Alberta election day: Kenney
And it was from our perspective, and I think the vast majority of
Alberta voters, a complete failure,” said the United Conservative leader
in an interview on CTV’s Question Period.
Kenney said that the federal Liberals’ idea of “social licence” is a “sham.”
Wind energy insiders optimistic UCP will support ‘low-cost’ renewable electricity | CBC News
government would scrap the Alberta NDP’s Climate Leadership Plan, which
included a tax on carbon.
The party’s
platform says it considers financial support to develop renewable
technology, or kickstart companies, to be “subsidies.” Instead, the UCP’s platform urges that industry to compete in the energy market unassisted.
A UCP government would stop funding renewable energy initiatives after Round 3 of the NDP’s program that’s already in effect.
