Kenney promises ‘to do everything’ he can ‘to get Scheer elected’ at CPC event in Edmonton
“It’s easy for [Trudeau] to get to walk in parades or to make
announcements with no details, but our plan allows Canada to export more
of what we can produce here at a lower rate of emissions.”
Scheer says regardless of protests, the Conservative’s climate plan will be effective.
But an Edmonton political scientist disagrees.
Chaldeans Mensah says both the Conservative and Liberal plans wouldn’t
do enough to meet emission targets – a fact that could turn some
protestors to an alternative option this October.
Trudeau to reveal Liberal platform as Scheer spends day off campaign trail
He has a mid-day event scheduled at the University of Toronto’s
Mississauga campus, where he’s promising to reveal what the Liberals
call “a real plan for the middle class.”
The Liberals, Conservatives and New Democrats have spent much of the
three-week-old campaign fighting over who will do more for average
Canadians’ incomes, expenses and debts.
‘We can’t eat money or drink oil,’ Autumn Peltier tells UN | CBC News
Peltier
spoke at the Global Landscapes Forum, a platform on sustainable land use
founded by UN Environment and the World Bank that’s dedicated to
achieving development and climate goals.
She used the speech to
draw attention to the lack of clean water in numerous Indigenous
communities, which she says sparked her activism.
Website breaking down climate platforms in advance of election
EnviroVote Canada is a project developed in part by Isabelle Hurley, a Dalhousie graduate student in the biology department.
“Normally [people] would have to open multiple tabs on their computer
and try and read through these jargon-filled platforms. Instead we’ve
done all of that work for you,” Hurley tells NEWS 95.7’s The Todd
Veinotte Show.
The website, EnviroVote.ca, breaks down the four major parties’ standings on 25 key issues.
