Which party has the most effective carbon plan, and how will it affect the economy?
The four major federal political parties — the
Liberals, Conservatives, NDP and Green Party — have spelled out their
targets and policies in their platforms. (The People’s Party of Canada
does not consider human-caused climate change a threat, and the Bloc
Québécois does not have a national climate plan, but supports policies
aligned with Quebec’s provincial plan.)
The parties have all pledged to meet, or exceed,
Canada’s stated goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to 30 per
cent below 2005 levels by 2030.
