Varcoe: New Alberta energy minister steps into cabinet’s hot seat
Marks the end of trying to keep Canada’s emissions under control…
Newly appointed Alberta Energy Minister Sonya Savage’s already been a player in Canada’s pipeline wars for more than a decade, employed at Enbridge and most recently as a senior executive with the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association (CEPA).
“At Enbridge for nine years, I worked on almost every major project they had, including Northern Gateway, Line 9, saw the development of the foreign-funded activists and their campaign to land-lock Alberta energy. I saw it play out with a front-row seat,” Savage told reporters in Edmonton on Tuesday.
“I am familiar with what the problems are, and ready to jump in and hit the ground running.”
