With Singh’s environment plan, the left-centre climate change bidding war begins | CBC News
In my not so humble opinion this move was a ruse to protect their conservative bias. Knowing Scheer was a weak, unknown choice for the Progressive Conservatives, they wanted to give him more of an open playing field to go one-on-one against Trudeau. If he had to compete with Charlie Angus or Niki Ashton, then it’s likely the Conservatives wouldn’t have a chance to be the leading party. Once they succeeded getting Singh elected, they have been dissing him ever since. And, no doubt, he’s played right into their hands. It’s a little late to be coming out with an unclear environmental plan this close to the election.
One might argue that Scheer’s plans hardly exist as well. That’s true. But now that he is the main competitor, he has one thing going for him. He’s not Trudeau.
